Terms and Conditions
Last updated: October 11, 2026
In plain words: ShortieCuts runs actions in your spreadsheet when you press keys. Always keep your own backups; we aren't liable for lost or changed data.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime from the extension. ShortieCuts is an independent product and isn't made by Google or Microsoft.
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and ShortieCuts LLC ("ShortieCuts", "we", "us"). They cover the ShortieCuts Chrome extension, the website at www.shortiecuts.com and the ShortieCuts Teams dashboard (together, the "Service"). By installing or using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA and UK) to use the Service.
2. Your account
You sign in with your Google account. Keep that account secure; you're responsible for activity under it. Tell us at info@shortiecuts.com if you think someone else is using it.
3. Free trial
New accounts can start a 14-day free trial of Pro from the extension. No card is needed. One trial per person. When the trial ends, Pro features stop unless you subscribe. We may change or end trial offers at any time, but won't shorten a trial already started.
4. Subscriptions and automatic renewal
- Pro is sold monthly or yearly. Current prices are on our pricing page (today $7.99 a month or $69.99 a year, plus any applicable tax).
- You pay at the start of each billing period through Stripe, our payment processor.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period and is charged to your payment method until you cancel.
- If we change a price, we'll tell you in advance, and the new price applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before then.
- If a payment fails, Pro features may stop until it's fixed.
- Any one-time ("lifetime") purchase gives you Pro for as long as we offer the Service, with no renewal charges.
5. Cancelling
Cancel anytime: open the ShortieCuts extension popup, click Settings, then Manage next to Billing. That opens Stripe's billing portal, where you can cancel, switch plans or update your card. You can also email info@shortiecuts.com. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
6. Refunds
Payments are non-refundable, and we don't give refunds or credits for partial periods or unused time, except where the law requires it. If you think you were charged by mistake, email us and we'll look into it.
7. Team plans
- A team admin buys Pro for a group and adds members by email address or by company email domain.
- Teams are billed per active member. The price per member, including any volume discount, is shown in the Teams dashboard and at checkout.
- When members are added or removed, the number of paid seats changes, and Stripe may charge or credit the difference for the rest of the billing period.
- The admin is responsible for adding only people they're allowed to add, and for telling members that their email and seat status are visible to the admin.
8. Acceptable use
Don't:
- copy, resell, sublicense or share your subscription beyond what your plan allows;
- reverse engineer, decompile or modify the Service, except where the law allows despite this limit;
- get around trial limits, licensing checks or security features;
- use the Service to break the law, break Google's terms, or harm others;
- overload, attack or interfere with our servers or other users.
9. Your files and your backups
Your files belong to you. We don't access, store or claim any rights in their contents.
When you press a shortcut, the extension performs actions in your document for you, such as inserting or deleting rows, pasting, formatting or filling cells. Shortcuts can do the wrong thing, for example if Google changes its menus, a key is pressed by mistake, or the wrong cells are selected. You are responsible for your documents and their data, for checking the results, and for keeping your own backups. Google's version history (File, then Version history) can help you undo changes. We aren't liable for data that is lost, deleted or changed by using the Service.
10. Not affiliated with Google or Microsoft
ShortieCuts is an independent product. It isn't made, endorsed or sponsored by Google LLC or Microsoft Corporation. Google, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Drive and Chrome are trademarks of Google LLC. Microsoft, Excel, Word and PowerPoint are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. Other names belong to their owners. We use them only to describe what ShortieCuts works with.
The Service depends on Google's products, which Google can change at any time. Some shortcuts may stop working until we update them.
11. Our rights in the Service
We own the Service, including its code, design and content. While you follow these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use it. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
12. Changes to the Service
We may add, change or remove features, or stop offering the Service. If we discontinue a paid plan, we'll give reasonable notice and refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
13. No warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or work with every version of Google Sheets, Docs or Slides.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, even if we were told they were possible; and
- our total liability for all claims about the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US$100.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
15. Ending these terms
You can stop using the Service anytime by cancelling any subscription and uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it. If we end your access for any other reason, we'll refund the unused part of any prepaid period. Sections 6, 9, 11, 13, 14, 17 and 18 continue after these terms end.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and change the "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you by email or in the extension before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, cancel and stop using the Service.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. If you're a consumer, you also keep any protections the laws of your home country or state give you.
18. General
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest stays in effect, and the unenforceable part is limited only as much as needed. Our not enforcing a right isn't a waiver of it. You can't transfer these terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
