The Terms: For every month a friend you refer pays for ShortieCuts, you get one month free, up to 12 free months in any 12-month period, counted from the friend's first 12 months. Your friend gets one free month too. A free trial or free sign-up doesn't count; only paid, cleared payments do. Credits are added to your bill about 14 days after each payment clears, and are reversed if the payment is refunded or disputed. You need an active subscription for a credit to apply (we hold it for 60 days if you don't). One reward per referred person, ever. Referring yourself, or someone who already pays, doesn't count. Credits have no cash value and can't be exchanged for money. We may withhold credits we believe are abusive, and we may change or end the program; credits already earned stay. Using ShortieCuts is simple: just install the extension from the Chrome Web Store, and you're ready to go. The extension automatically detects when you're using Google Sheets, Slides or Docs and enables the matching Excel, PowerPoint or Word ALT-key shortcuts, as well as the other features it offers.
Install ShortieCuts from the Chrome Web Store and pin it next to the address bar.
Click the ShortieCuts icon, sign in with Google and click "Begin 14-day Free Trial". No credit card needed.
Press Alt (Option on Mac) and key-tips appear. Type the same letters you would in Excel, PowerPoint or Word, like HOI to autofit a column in Sheets.
How it works: just hit "ALT" (or Option on Mac) and an on-screen Key Tips overlay with letter hints appears in the corner of your screen. Then type the same letters you would in Excel.

Colors a selection the banker way: typed-in numbers blue, formulas black, links to other tabs or files green. Text and blanks are left alone, and only the font color changes. Colors are adjustable in Settings.

We figured out a way to Trace Dependents and Trace Precedents in Google Sheets using the same keyboard shortcuts as Excel. It even works across tabs and lets you return to the previous cell using F5 just like Excel. No more getting lost when auditing formulas.

No more clicking headers or struggling to remember the Google Sheets shortcut. Want to add/remove a column or row? Do it the way you're used to: Highlight the whole column or row on the first try using CTRL+SPACE or SHIFT+SPACE then add or delete the column/row using the Excel-style CTRL shortcut.

Freezes frames in a single stroke rather than having to freeze the row and column separately. Google Sheets (by default) freezes panes in the down/right direction rather than up/left like Excel. We fixed that too.

Open the ShortieCuts extension popup, click Settings, then click Manage next to Billing. That opens the billing portal, where you can cancel, switch plans or update your card. For billing problems, email info@shortiecuts.com.
