Splits the text in one column into several columns, for example by comma or space.

How to Use Alt + A + E in Google Sheets

  1. Add the ShortieCuts extension to Chrome and open any Google Sheet.
  2. Select the cells you want to work on (if the command needs a selection).
  3. Press Alt (or Option on Mac). Excel-style key-tips appear over the sheet.
  4. Press A, then E. ShortieCuts runs Text to Columns, just like Excel.

In Google Sheets this is Split Text to Columns.

Without an extension: Google Sheets doesn't support Excel's Alt key-tips, so Alt + A + E won't run Text to Columns on its own.
